My name is Taylor Gow. I am a cloud infrastructure architect and a veteran of both the Army and Air Force. Passionate about the outdoors, I seize every opportunity to spend time outside amidst my work and personal commitments.

My hobbies span across rock climbing, diving, and playing musical instruments, such as guitar and piano.

Before I settled into the tech field, I had no real direction or career goals. As a kid, I never gravitated towards any specific area or skill. This ultimately led to me joining the Army National Guard when I was 17.

Army Basic Combat Training portrait of myself, Fort Sill, OK, June 2006.

I completed Basic Combat Training, and returned home to complete my senior year of high school (this was known back then as the split option). Once I graduated high school, I then completed the Army Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic School. Fast-forward to 6 years and one deployment later, my army contract came to an end, and I moved on to other professions.

Shoestring Gully, NH, February 2020.

I have worked as a soldier, a mechanic, a security guard, a police officer, a systems administrator, and eventually, an Airman in the Air Force. Between 2015 and present, I completed the Air Force Cyber Systems Operations school, a B.S. in Information Technology, an M.S. in Cyber Security, as well as computer certifications like CompTIA Security +, Certified Ethical Hacker, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and AWS Solutions Architect Associate.

TLDR, I learned how to do technical things, such as build computers, build this website, and even host the domain myself using Amazon Web Services cloud hosting.

Hathaway’s Pond, MA, July 2021.

Why did I make this website?

Really, this is just a creative outlet for myself, as well as an exercise in technical skills to keep me current with website design, virtual server creation and maintenance, and hosting.

What can you expect to see here?

I will be sharing videos and pictures on various social media platforms of me doing the things I like to do, as well as talking about the gear I am using. I will also share my packing lists and inventories in case you would like more detailed information on my gear. I may even post music or other artistic projects I am working on as well.
